The eighth Annual Day at Sehwag International School was celebrated as ‘Spardha 2018- Annual Sports Day’ with great splendour. The distinguished Chief Guest on this occasion was our patron Mr Virender Sehwag.
After the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Guest hoisted the school flag followed by the lighting of the torch and then house inspection. After the oath taking ceremony, the Annual Sports Meet 2018 was declared open by our esteemed Chief Guest, Mr Virender Sehwag.
After declaration of the opening of the Sports Meet, the four houses showcased their March Past followed by a Haryanvi song highlighting the theme of women empowerment. Thereafter, ‘Fun Races’, were organised for classes 3 to 5. Then came the most awaited and energetic events, the athletic events. The students of classes 3 to 12 (both categories, boys and girls) participated in 100 metre races, 200 metre races, 400 metre races and 4 x 100 metre relay races. The audience appreciated the races and cheered the athletes. The students touched the heart strings of one and all with their scintillating performance, spelling out happiness to an amazed audience. The audience were left awe-struck and they enjoyed the show spell bound.
All the competitions were enjoyed by the parents. The Chief Guest awarded medals and trophies to the meritorious achievers/winners of different races and competitions. Along with the winners of different athletic events, meritorious achievers at national level were also awarded by Mr Virender Sehwag. Finally, the show came to a penultimate program with ‘Vote of Thanks’ and encouraging words by Mr. Dhirendra Singh, Principal of the school. The program concluded with the singing of the National Anthem and a Christmas Carol by the choir group. Overall, an enthralling and grand performance was put up by the students on the Annual Sports Day.
