Former Assam Ranji player and a highly qualified fitness trainer of the country, Nishanta Bordoloi, the Delhi Ranji team Strength & Conditioning Coach.

A qualified BCCI Match Official & S&C Coach, apart from being an international trainer, Bordoloi gave up his BCCI assignments as match referee in several matches across the country last year and joined the Delhi team.

After helping Yuvraj Singh regain fitness at the NCA after the latter’s mid-career illness last year, the 35-year-old Bordoloi will now work upon the likes of Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, along with three other Indian internationals who figure in the Delhi team.

While Kohli and Sikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma are at present doing national duty , Sehwag, Gambhir, Ashish Nehra and Parvinder Awana are in the Ranji team.

Nishanta is a qualified Strength & Conditioning Coach from the National Cricket Academy, Board of Control for Cricket in India, Australian Strength & Conditioning Association, Australia.

He has undergone part of his training at the Australian Institute of Sports, Canberra.

As a cricketer, Bordoloi, a top order batsman, had played 35 first class and 29 List A matches for Assam before he hung up his boots in 2009. He then took to officiating in matches and physical training in which he has attained qualifications under the UK and Australian fitness training curricula. He, however, continues to play state-level tournaments and is still a performing batsman for Guwahati in the state inter-district tournament.

Bordoloi is also level 2 cricket coach qualified and accredited to the England & wales Cricket Board and has an array of overseas players coming to visit him in India for his coaching inuts along with fitness training specific to the individual and the game that they play.

He has also helped many individuals in the outside the sporting arena with recovery and rehabilitation from injuries and pain.
