The finals of the “Concours d’orthographe” ( National French Spell Bee 2015 ) was held at IIC C D Deshmukh Auditorium on 25th January 2016 coinciding with the visit of the president of France Mr. François Hollande as Chief Guest for the Republic Day Celebrations of India.

The National French Spell Bee is a prestigious contest conducted in India to promote French language vocabulary & their correct pronunciation among the school students in India. Students from 10 different zones of India compete online in two rounds to reach the

Finals at New Delhi every January which is a face to face competition conducted by some of the best French teachers in India & France. This year the chief guest of the contest was His Excellency Mr Arnaud Gaspart of the the Belgium Embassy a country where French is the native and official language and Mr Ashwani Goyal, Director of the leading publishers of the third language school books in India. The winners from each level were distributed prizes with the 1st and 2nd runner up winning a trip to FREHINDI Village and the winner winning an all expense paid trip to France. In this competition 6350 students of 80 schools from all over India participated and only 87 students qualified for the finals.

Two students of the Sehwag International School also made to the finals. Where Master Rishabh Gulia stood 2nd in the Intermediate level whereas Ms. Aradhana got the consolation prize. It was a proud moment for the school as we have participated for the first time in this prestigious competition and got the 2nd position in all over India.
